10. extended family and generations

Sarah: Hi, Emma! How's your day going?

Emma: Hey, Sarah! It's been good, thanks. How about you?

Sarah: Not bad. I was just thinking about family stuff. Do you see your extended family often?

Emma: Not as much as I'd like to. We usually get together on holidays or special occasions.

Sarah: Yeah, same here. I love those gatherings. Do you have any cousins you're close to?

Emma: Oh, definitely! I have a bunch of cousins, but I'm closest to my cousin Jack. We grew up together and have so many fun memories.

Sarah: That's awesome! I wish I had cousins nearby. Do you ever talk about family traditions with them?

Emma: All the time! Jack and I always reminisce about the family reunions at our grandparents' house. It's like reliving those moments.

Sarah: Speaking of grandparents, what role do yours play in your family?

Emma: They're like the glue that holds us all together. They share stories from their youth and give us advice. Plus, they spoil us with love and treats!

Sarah: Sounds like they're wonderful. My grandparents are the same way. It's amazing how much wisdom they have to offer.

Emma: Definitely. I think the influence of older generations on younger ones is so important. It helps us learn about our roots and where we come from.

Sarah: Absolutely. I always feel grounded and connected when I spend time with my grandparents and hear their stories.

Emma: Me too. It's a special bond that I cherish.

Sarah: Well, it's great to chat about family stuff with you, Emma. Makes me appreciate mine even more.

Emma: Same here, Sarah. Family is everything.
