Clauses

a clause is a group of words that contains a subject and a verb. It can either express a complete thought or be part of a larger sentence.

Example: She went to the store.

Dependent Clause: A group of words that cannot stand alone as a complete sentence and relies on an independent clause to make sense.
Example: Because she was tired.
